About the NM CID MS-14 Exam
The New Mexico CID MS-14 examination covers gaseous and chemical fire-protection systems. The official open-book PSI exam has 50 scored questions, a 75% passing standard (38 points), and 90 minutes allowed. Allowed references include NFPA 72 (2010), NFPA 10 (2007), NFPA 11 (2005), NFPA 12A (2009), NFPA 17 (2009), NFPA 17A (2009), NFPA 96 (2008), UPC 2021, UMC 2021, NFPA 2001 (2008), and NFPA 12 (2008). NMAC 14.6.6 MS-14 requires four years of experience and covers gaseous or chemical-based fire protection systems including carbon dioxide and clean agents, pressurized storage tanks, valves, temperature-sensing devices, solenoid or safety shut-off devices, and incidental 24-volt controls.
