About the NM CID MM-2 Exam
The New Mexico CID MM-2 examination covers natural gas fitting. The official open-book PSI exam has 100 scored questions, a 75% passing standard (75 points), and 255 minutes allowed. Allowed references include UMC 2021, Modern Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (19th or 20th edition), IPT's Pipe Trades Handbook (2016), UPC 2021, NMAC 14.8.2 (2015), and NMAC 14.9.2 (2015). NMAC 14.6.6 MM-2 requires four years of experience and covers natural-gas piping and fittings, hot-water heating not exceeding 30 psi or 400,000 Btu/h input, steam and hot-water boilers, warm-air heating systems, listed gas appliances, incidental controls, and excavation.
