Florida's Certified Residential Pool/Spa Contractor trade knowledge exam covers the full residential pool and spa construction sequence: pre-installation and site preparation, pool and spa excavation, shell construction and reinforcing (gunite/shotcrete), piping/circulation and hydraulics, equipment and filtration, electrical requirements and NEC Article 680 equipotential bonding, tile/coping/decks and finishes, accessories and safety barriers (F.S. 515, VGB Act), and startup/testing/water chemistry. Candidates also answer plans, codes, specifications, and basic construction mathematics questions including pool volume, turnover, flow rate, total dynamic head, filter area, concrete volume, and chemical dosing calculations.
