Yes. One-third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer. Under the current scheme, candidates must mark an option for every question, and leaving more than 10% of questions blank can lead to disqualification.
What score do I need to pass the Prelims?
There is no fixed passing percentage. RPSC sets category-wise cut-off marks each cycle, typically based on the number of vacancies, and candidates above the cut-off advance to the Mains. Prelims marks are not counted in the final merit list.

Candidates must hold a graduation degree from a recognised university and generally be between 21 and 40 years of age on the prescribed date, with age relaxations for reserved categories. Priority in selection is given to candidates with Rajasthan domicile.
How much is the application fee?
The fee is set per recruitment cycle through the Rajasthan One Time Registration (OTR) system — recently about Rs. 600 for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 400 for SC/ST/EWS candidates. Always confirm the exact fee in the current official notification.
Who conducts the RAS examination?
The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), headquartered in Ajmer, conducts the RAS/RTS examination and publishes the syllabus, notifications, cut-offs, and results on its official website.
What comes after clearing the Prelims?
Candidates who clear the Prelims cut-off sit the Mains, a descriptive written examination of four papers. Those who qualify the Mains are then called for a personal interview, and final selection is based on combined Mains and interview marks.
