Frequently Asked Questions
What is the PRINCE2 Agile Foundation passing score?
PRINCE2 Agile Foundation (Version 2) requires 24 marks out of 40 — 60% — to pass. The exam is 60 minutes long, closed book, with 40 multiple-choice questions each worth one mark and no negative marking. It is delivered by PeopleCert online proctored or at a test centre.
Do I need PRINCE2 experience to take PRINCE2 Agile Foundation?
No. PRINCE2 Agile Foundation (Version 2) has no prerequisites and is open to anyone. The syllabus introduces both PRINCE2 Project Management and agile from first principles, although candidates already familiar with PRINCE2 7 or with Scrum will find the material easier.
What is the difference between PRINCE2 Agile Version 1 and Version 2?
Version 2 was released in May 2025 and aligns PRINCE2 Agile with PRINCE2 Version 7. Themes became practices, management products became artifacts, the Change theme became the Issues practice, and the six-cornered hexagon was replaced by seven performance targets including sustainability. Version 2 also adds organizational change management, the Agile Onion, agile scaling, eleven named roles, agile workshops, and guidance on AI. The exam changed from 50 questions at 55% to 40 questions at 60%.
Can I still take the PRINCE2 Agile Version 1 exam?
Only if you already hold a voucher. PeopleCert stopped selling PRINCE2 Agile (Version 1) vouchers on 30 June 2026, and the last day to take a Version 1 exam, including a Take2 resit, is 31 December 2026. Anyone booking now sits Version 2.
What is the Agile Onion in PRINCE2 Agile?
The Agile Onion is a five-layer model of agility. From the outside in the layers are processes, practices, principles, values and mindset. Outer layers are visible and easy to copy but make little difference alone, while the mindset at the core is hardest to change and most decisive — which is why adopting an agile framework on its own does not deliver the benefits.
Does PRINCE2 Agile Foundation certification expire?
Yes. PRINCE2 Agile Foundation (Version 2) is valid for three years. Renewal requires 20 CPD points maintained through PeopleCert membership, or completing another qualification in the same product suite. The lifetime validity that applied to older certifications no longer applies.
