1What is the minimum statutory age required to obtain a Category T driving licence in Poland?
A.16 years old
B.18 years old
C.14 years old
D.21 years old
Explanation: Article 8(1) of the Act on Vehicle Drivers sets the minimum age for category T at 16. Training may begin up to 3 months earlier (Article 21(1)), and a candidate under 18 needs written consent from a parent or guardian.
2A 16-year-old wants to train for a category T licence. Which additional requirement applies because the candidate is a minor?
A.Holding a category AM licence for at least one year
B.Submit written consent from a parent or legal guardian
C.Proof of ownership of agricultural land
D.A psychological fitness opinion (orzeczenie psychologiczne)
Explanation: Under Article 21(2) of the Act on Vehicle Drivers a person under 18 may start training only with the written consent of a parent or guardian. Category T can be a first licence, and the psychological examination is not required for it.
3What medical certificate is mandatory before obtaining a PKK profile for Category T?
A.A hospital fitness certificate issued by an orthopedic surgeon
B.A standard sports competition medical declaration
C.A medical certificate from an authorised doctor
D.An annual general health check certificate from a family doctor
Explanation: Article 11(1)(2)(a) of the Act on Vehicle Drivers requires a medical certificate (orzeczenie lekarskie) confirming no health contraindications to driving, issued by a physician authorised to examine drivers.
4Which additional category of driving entitlement is automatically conferred upon passing the Category T examination?
A.Category AM (mopeds and light quadricycles)
B.Category B1 (heavy quadricycles up to 400kg)
C.Category A1 (light motorcycles up to 125cc)
D.Category B+E (passenger car with heavy trailer)
Explanation: Article 6(1)(11) of the Act on Vehicle Drivers states that category T covers agricultural tractors and slow-moving vehicles, combinations of them with trailers, and the vehicles of category AM (mopeds and light quadricycles).
5Since 3 March 2026, what is the speed limit for an agricultural tractor (with or without a trailer) under Article 20(6) of the Road Traffic Act?
A.25 km/h
B.30 km/h
C.40 km/h
D.50 km/h
Explanation: The Act of 17 October 2025 (Dz.U. 2025 poz. 1676) changed Article 20(6)(1) of the Road Traffic Act from 30 km/h to 40 km/h, effective 3 March 2026; the limit applies with or without a trailer. Lower limits still prevail where they apply, such as 20 km/h in a residential zone or with a work team in the trailer.
6Inside a built-up area you drive a tractor with a front loader that sticks out more than 1.5 m ahead of the driver's seat. What is your speed limit?
A.20 km/h
B.30 km/h
C.40 km/h
D.50 km/h
Explanation: Article 20(6)(2) of the Road Traffic Act limits a vehicle with a device protruding more than 1.5 m in front of the driver's seat to 30 km/h in built-up areas and 60 km/h outside them. The tractor's own 40 km/h limit and the 30 km/h built-up limit for such equipment both apply, so the lower figure, 30 km/h, governs.
7Are agricultural tractors permitted to enter or drive on Polish motorways (autostrady)?
A.Yes, provided they stay on the hard shoulder
B.Yes, but only during daylight hours in clear weather
C.Yes, if escorted by a pilot vehicle with an amber beacon
D.No, they are strictly prohibited from driving on motorways
Explanation: Under Article 2(3) and (33) of the Road Traffic Act, a motorway is for motor vehicles (pojazdy samochodowe), and an agricultural tractor is expressly not one. The only exception is a vehicle doing road-maintenance work with yellow beacons, which Article 54(2a) allows onto motorways and expressways.
8Does sign B-5 (no entry for lorries) also apply to an agricultural tractor?
A.Yes, it also covers tractors and slow-moving vehicles
B.No, sign B-5 applies only to lorries with a DMC over 3.5 t
C.Only if the tractor is towing a trailer
D.Only if the tractor's permissible mass exceeds 3.5 t
Explanation: Under § 18 of the road signs regulation, sign B-5 bans lorries over 3.5 t, truck tractors, special vehicles over 3.5 t, agricultural tractors and slow-moving vehicles. Sign B-6 bans only tractors and slow-moving vehicles.
9How must the triangular distinguishing plate (tablica wyróżniająca) for slow vehicles be oriented on a tractor?
A.With the apex pointing downwards
B.With the apex pointing upwards
C.With the apex pointing towards the road centre
D.Any orientation, as long as it is reflective
Explanation: § 52(3) of the vehicle technical regulation requires the plate to be mounted at the rear, perpendicular to the road, with the apex of the triangle pointing upwards.
10Where must the triangular distinguishing plate be fitted on a tractor and trailer combination?
A.On the front of the tractor
B.On the tractor only, even when it tows a trailer
C.At the rear of the last vehicle, 500–1500 mm above the road
D.On the right-hand side of the trailer, at any convenient height
Explanation: § 52 of the vehicle technical regulation requires the plate on tractors, slow-moving vehicles and their trailers; a vehicle that is not last in the combination need not show it. The plate goes at the rear, centred (or on the left), with its lower edge no lower than 500 mm and its top no higher than 1500 mm, or up to 2500 mm if the construction requires.

Poland Category T Theory Test: Suggested Study Strategy

1Remember the 2026 change: tractors may now travel at up to 40 km/h, while slow-moving vehicles are built for no more than 25 km/h.
2Learn the work-team rule: at most 5 people may ride in a tractor trailer, and the combination may not exceed 20 km/h.
3Know where the triangular slow-vehicle plate goes: at the rear of the last vehicle, between 500 and 1500 mm above the road.
4Learn the two-line air-brake colours: red for supply and yellow for control, and why a broken red line makes the trailer brake.
5Always stop the PTO and the engine and remove the key before touching a PTO-driven implement.
