A Nevada notary public is commissioned for a 4-year term by the Secretary of State and must file a $10,000 surety bond with the county clerk. Applicants must complete state training and pass an exam (at least 80%; the eNotary exam requires 75%). Maximum fees under NRS 240.100 include $15 for the first acknowledgment signature, $7.50 for an oath, $15 per jurat signature, and $75 for a marriage ceremony, while electronic acts under NRS 240.197 are capped at $25. Remote online notarization has been authorized since July 1, 2018 (AB 413).
