About the AP ECET Exam
AP ECET (APECET) is Andhra Pradesh’s state-level common entrance test for diploma holders and B.Sc. (Mathematics) graduates seeking lateral entry into the second year of B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharmacy programmes. JNTU Anantapur conducts the exam on behalf of APSCHE as a 3-hour computer-based test of 200 objective questions. Engineering diploma candidates answer common Mathematics (50), Physics (25), and Chemistry (25) plus a 100-mark branch-specific engineering paper. Ranking requires 25% aggregate (50/200) except SC/ST candidates, who have no minimum qualifying marks for ranking.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the AP ECET 2026 exam pattern for Engineering diploma holders?
The Engineering stream is a 3-hour CBT with 200 objective questions for 200 marks: Mathematics 50, Physics 25, Chemistry 25, and Engineering (branch paper) 100. Each correct answer carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking. The question paper is in English. Each engineering branch has a separate 100-mark paper.
What is the AP ECET 2026 registration fee?
As per the official APECET-2026 Registration Fee Details PDF on cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/ECET, the fee is Rs. 800 for OC, Rs. 750 for BC, and Rs. 700 for SC/ST categories, payable online.
What are the qualifying marks for an AP ECET rank?
Candidates need 25% of the aggregate marks (50 out of 200) to obtain a rank. SC/ST candidates have no minimum qualifying marks for ranking. Ranks are prepared branch-wise for Engineering; ties use Engineering, then Mathematics, then Physics marks, then age at admission.
Who conducts AP ECET and who is eligible?
JNTU Anantapur conducts APECET on behalf of APSCHE. Eligible candidates are Indian nationals belonging to Andhra Pradesh who hold a diploma in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy (or equivalent) or a 3-year B.Sc. with Mathematics, with at least 45% marks (40% for BC/SC/ST).
Which Mechanical Engineering topics appear in AP ECET?
The official Mechanical syllabus covers workshop technology and drawing conventions, production technology and CAM/CNC, engineering materials and solid mechanics, theory of machines and machine design, thermodynamics and heat power, hydraulics and fluid power, steam boilers/nozzles/turbines/condensers, refrigeration and air conditioning, industrial management, energy sources and power plants, and e-vehicle technology.
Is there negative marking in AP ECET?
No. Each question carries one mark for a correct response. Incorrect or unattempted questions do not reduce the score, so candidates should attempt all items after eliminating options where possible.
