About the LCA French Exam
LCA French is the modern European language option within Ireland's Leaving Certificate Applied General Education area. The NCCA modules aim at basic communicative competence: greeting people, using numbers, discussing likes and food, then surviving travel situations — directions, tickets, shopping, accommodation and money in euros. Final assessment is an oral test and a written paper that incorporates aural (listening), worth 6 credits, administered by the State Examinations Commission. This is not the same course as Established Leaving Certificate French. This practice bank offers original multiple-choice concept questions in English with French vocabulary and phrases in stems and options where language skill is tested, and English explanations throughout. It supports revision of module content; it does not replace speaking practice, key assignments or official SEC materials.
