10A 2.0 kg mass is raised 5.0 m at constant speed. Using g = 10 m/s^2, by how much does its gravitational potential energy increase?
About the DZI Physics and Astronomy Exam
The Bulgarian State Matriculation Examination (държавен зрелостен изпит, DZI) in Physics and Astronomy is a national written school-leaving exam administered by the Ministry of Education and Science. It may be taken as the second compulsory DZI or as an additional paper, on either the general-education (ООП) or profiled-preparation (ПП) programme. The official paper is in Bulgarian, lasts 240 minutes, is marked anonymously, and is scored 0–100 points with a pass of Среден 3.00 at 30 points. Content spans mechanics, molecular physics and thermodynamics, electrostatics and DC circuits, magnetism, oscillations and waves, geometric and wave optics, modern physics, and basic astronomy. This free English MCQ bank trains recognition of models, SI units, and standard calculations before students practise official Bulgarian papers.
Assessment
Official DZI Physics and Astronomy is a written, anonymously marked Bulgarian paper scored 0–100 points. Candidates sit either the ООП (общообразователна подготовка) paper or the ПП (профилирана подготовка) paper. Profiled content is organized around modules such as Motion and Energy, Field and Energy, Experimental Physics, and the XII microworld module (quanta, atom, nucleus). The official paper is not a pure MCQ exam. This 100-question bank is an English MCQ study adaptation only — it does not simulate the real constructed-response format.
Time Limit
4 hours (240 minutes) for the written anonymous test. For 2026, the second compulsory DZI sitting is 22 May at 08:30; additional Physics papers by choice follow the МОН May–June timetable.
Passing Score
0–100 points. Pass is Среден 3.00 at 30 of 100 points (Ordinance No. 11 of 1 September 2016). Below 30 points is Слаб 2.00.
Exam Fee
No published exam fee for regular school candidates; DZI is a state school examination taken through the Bulgarian secondary pathway. External-candidate arrangements, if any, are not a published Physics fee. (Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria (Министерство на образованието и науката, МОН))

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the official DZI Physics and Astronomy exam a multiple-choice test in English?
No. The official paper is a Bulgarian-language written examination with mixed closed and constructed-response items. This bank is an English-language MCQ study adaptation — not an official format simulation.
What is the difference between ООП and ПП Physics papers?
ООП (общообразователна подготовка) tests general-education Physics and Astronomy. ПП (профилирана подготовка) is for students who studied Physics as a profile subject, covering the official modules (Motion and Energy, Field and Energy, Experimental Physics, and the XII microworld module). You sit the paper matching your pathway.
When is the 2026 Physics DZI?
The second compulsory DZI sitting in 2026 is 22 May at 08:30. Additional Physics papers by choice (ДЗИ по желание) follow the МОН May–June timetable for ООП and ПП variants.
How is the exam scored, and what is the pass mark?
Papers are scored 0–100 points. The pass threshold is Среден 3.00 at 30 of 100 points under Ordinance No. 11 of 1 September 2016. Works are marked anonymously.
Is there an exam fee?
No published exam fee applies for regular school candidates; DZI is a state school examination. Do not assume a Physics-specific fee that МОН has not published.
