About the AR Bar Exam
The Arkansas Bar Examination is the legacy Uniform Bar Examination (UBE), which Arkansas began administering in February 2020. It is given over two days: day one is the six Multistate Essay Examination (MEE) questions and two Multistate Performance Test (MPT) tasks, and day two is the 200-question Multistate Bar Examination (MBE). Scores are weighted MBE 50%, MEE 30%, and MPT 20% on a 400-point scale, and Arkansas requires 270 to pass. The UBE has no Arkansas-law component. The State Board of Law Examiners has recommended the NextGen Bar Examination beginning in July 2028, and the Arkansas Supreme Court is considering adoption.

How do the Arkansas Bar vocabulary games work?
There are 4 games built on 20 Arkansas Bar terms. In Guess the Term, a clue describes one term and you have six tries to spell it, with green, yellow and gray letters showing how close you are. In Term Match, six terms appear as colored tiles; swap neighbors to line up three or more of the same term, and each match shows what the term means. In Term Pairs, twelve face-down cards hide six pairs of terms; flip two at a time to find each pair, and every pair you find shows what the term means. In Term Search, five terms hide in a grid of letters, reading across, down or diagonally; drag across a term to circle it, and each term you find shows what it means.
Where do the Arkansas Bar terms come from?
OpenExamPrep researched each term from the Arkansas State Board of Law Examiners (Arkansas Supreme Court) content outline and primary sources, listed under Sources on this page. The game is independent study material, not an official exam resource.
What is the passing score for the Arkansas Bar Exam?
Arkansas administers the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) and requires a scaled score of 270 out of 400 to pass. The score combines the MBE (weighted 50%), the MEE essays (30%), and the MPT tasks (20%). Because Arkansas uses the UBE, a passing score can be transferred to other UBE jurisdictions, subject to each state's own minimum score and requirements.
How is the Arkansas Bar Exam structured?
The exam is given over two days. Day 1 is the written portion: six 30-minute Multistate Essay Examination (MEE) essays and two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) tasks. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE): 200 multiple-choice questions in two 3-hour sessions of 100 questions each. The exam is offered the last Tuesday and Wednesday of February and July.
