Can You Take the MA Boiler Operator Exam?

- •Submit form BPV-010 to the Department of Fire Services Boiler and Pressure Vessel Program
- •Pay the $100 or $150 examination fee for the grade sought
- •Provide sworn documentation of qualifying experience
- •Pass the written and oral examinations for the desired license grade

Retake Policy
One examination per application; an applicant who fails may not reapply for the same license class more often than once in 60 days (M.G.L. c.146 s.57). A person aggrieved by the action of a single examiner may appeal within one week to the Chief of the Division of Inspection, who appoints a three-member board of appeal (s.66). First and second class engineer candidates are examined by a board of three district engineering inspectors whose decision s.64 makes final.
