Can You Take the GAF Officer Cadet Exam Exam?

Age
Regular Cadet course: 18 to 26 years by Thursday 18 February 2027. Short Service Commission: not more than 30 years by 18 February 2027 for most streams (33 to 40 for some medical, legal, chaplaincy, and specialist streams). The portal lists no separate age limit for the Regular Commission course (apply.mil.gh, 2026/2027 intake).
Education
Regular Career Officer Course: first degree not below Second Class Lower from an accredited university or institution, in a discipline relevant to the chosen stream. Regular Cadet course: six credits including English, Mathematics and Science (BECE, WASSCE or SSSCE), or five GCE O-Level credits including English Language and Mathematics plus Grade A–D in three GCE A-Level subjects
Additional Requirements
  • •Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth, of good character, and not bonded; Regular Cadet applicants must also be unmarried
  • •Must meet minimum height requirements (1.68m for males, 1.60m for females; 1.75m and 1.70m for the Military Police)
  • •Must be medically fit to GAF standards and able to pass the Pre-Joining Fitness Test
  • •Must possess valid national identification (Ghana Card)
