Can You Take the GDTP Technologist Exam?

Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements

Age
Education
ASME does not publish a separate education prerequisite for the Technologist level on the opened official page.
Experience
No experience requirement for the Technologist level; applicants must successfully pass the Technologist GDTP examination.
Additional Requirements
  • Purchase the application/exam package and submit the application through ASME PC-Connect.
  • After ASME accepts the application, schedule the exam through Prometric within the published 180-day eligibility window.
  • Choose the intended certification basis carefully; ASME currently offers separate Y14.5-2009 and Y14.5-2018 Technologist exams with different passing scores (78% vs. 74%), and passing one revision does not certify the other.
