Phase 3: Risk Management (20% of the exam)
Cover exposure limits, TPS due diligence, the 2026 fraud monitoring Rules, account validation and data security.
Phase 4: File Formatting & Other Payment Systems (13% of the exam)
Drill 94-character record layouts and addenda formats, then compare Fedwire, CHIPS, RTP and FedNow to ACH.
Can You Take the AAP Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •2026 test window: Monday, October 5 through Saturday, October 31, 2026
- •2026 registration: January 19 through September 4, 2026, with late registration September 5-25, 2026
- •Delivered as a computer-based test at Pearson VUE testing centers
- •AAPs renew every 5 years with 60 continuing education credits, no more than 20 in any one year
