Lunda (subject code 3147), also called Chilunda, is a Zambia School Certificate / GCE Ordinary-Level Zambian-language subject administered by the Examinations Council of Zambia. It is one of the seven regional languages examined at Grade 12 (with Luvale, Kiikaonde, Icibemba, Chitonga, Cinyanja and Silozi). The Ministry of Education Zambian Languages syllabus (Ordinary Level, Forms 1–4, 2024) is competence-based and has five integrated components: listening and speaking, reading, writing, language structure and translation. It also carries customs, traditions and cross-cutting themes (national values, corruption, climate change and financial education). Teaching time is 3 hours 20 minutes a week (five 40-minute periods), with two periods each guided toward reading comprehension and composition. Official 2026 papers are 3147/1 Lunda 1 and 3147/2 Lunda 2, each 2 hours and written in Lunda (timetable OCR may show LONDA; the official name is Lunda). ECZ reports that Zambian-language papers reward composition (narrative and argumentative essays, reports and formal letters), prose summary, orthography, literature answers and language structure. Results are graded on the ECZ 1–9 scale. This page is a free English-language four-option MCQ study adaptation. Lunda words, phrases, grammar examples and instructions that are the skill being tested stay in Lunda and are explained in English. It is not an official ECZ paper, not an official translation, and not a simulation of the Lunda-language exam environment.
