Swedex B1: Suggested Study Strategy

1Download the official Swedex mock exam (provprov) from folkuniversitetet.se/in-english/swedex-swedish-examinations/mock-exams/ — it is the single best resource for understanding the exact text types, task formats, and B1 difficulty level used in the real test.
2Master the BIFF rule (Bisats: Inte Före Finit verb): in every subordinate clause, negations (inte, aldrig, redan) and sentence adverbials come BEFORE the finite verb. This rule affects every reading text and grammar task on the exam.
3Study Swedish particle verbs systematically — sätta på (turn on), stänga av (turn off), ta upp (raise a topic), lägga ner (shut down), boka in (schedule), ta reda på (find out). These are heavily tested in both the grammar section and authentic texts.
4Read Swedish news daily: SVT Nyheter, Dagens Nyheter simplified articles, or 8 Sidor (an easy-Swedish news site). These expose you to the article, report, and email genres that form the core of Swedex reading texts.
