A.Vehicles over 3,500 kg for up to 8 passengers, trailer up to 750 kg
B.Any vehicle over 7,500 kg, including buses and coaches
C.Only vehicles between 3,500 kg and 7,500 kg maximum authorised mass
D.Trucks over 3,500 kg towing trailers of any mass whatsoever
Explanation: Section 75(11) of Act No. 8/2009 puts into group C motor vehicles over 3,500 kg maximum authorised mass that carry at most 8 persons besides the driver (other than D1 or D vehicles). A trailer up to 750 kg may be attached; heavier trailers need group CE.
2What does a Slovak group C licence entitle its holder to drive, and what must the applicant already hold?
A.Groups C and BE; the applicant must already hold group C1
B.Groups C, C1 and T; the applicant must hold B
C.Groups C, CE and D; no earlier licence group is required
D.Group C only; BE must be held first
Explanation: Section 76(11) of Act No. 8/2009 allows group C to be granted only to a holder of group B and says it also covers groups C1 and T. Combinations with heavy trailers still need CE.
3An applicant is 19 years old. Under what condition can the Slovak authorities grant group C at that age?
A.Never, because group C is available only from the age of 24
B.After two years with group B
C.If the applicant passes an extra theory test on heavy vehicles
D.After completing the basic qualification course
Explanation: Section 78 of Act No. 8/2009 sets the minimum age for group C at 21, but § 78(7) allows C and CE from 18 if the applicant completed the basic qualification course or holds a driver qualification card for C1 or C1E. Until 21 such a holder may drive C vehicles only with a driver qualification card.
4Outside a municipality, on a road with three marked lanes in your direction, which lane may you use to overtake in a truck over 3,500 kg?
A.Any lane, provided you return to the right lane quickly
B.Only the leftmost lane, which is meant for overtaking
C.Only the second lane from the right edge
D.None; trucks may not overtake there
Explanation: Under § 10(2) of Act No. 8/2009, the driver of a goods vehicle over 3,500 kg may overtake on such a road only in the second lane from the right. Other lanes may be used only to pass an obstacle, turn around or turn.
5You drive a category N3 truck with a maximum authorised mass of 18,000 kg on a motorway. What does § 35(3) of Act No. 8/2009 say about overtaking?
A.You must not overtake other motor vehicles
B.Only in the left lane
C.You may overtake only vehicles that travel below 60 km/h
D.You may overtake only on motorways with three or more lanes
Explanation: Section 35(3) forbids the driver of a category N vehicle over 7,500 kg, or of a combination over 7,500 kg, from overtaking another motor vehicle on a motorway. The ban also applies on roads for motor vehicles under § 37(3).
6What minimum gap must the driver of an N2 or N3 truck keep behind the vehicle ahead on a motorway?
A.The distance the truck covers in two seconds
B.The distance covered in three seconds
C.A fixed 50 m
D.One second of distance for every 10 km/h of speed
Explanation: Section 35(5) of Act No. 8/2009 requires at least the distance covered in three seconds for M3, N2 and N3 vehicles and two seconds for others. Vehicles using a platooning control system are exempt.
7Your loaded truck crawls up a long hill with faster cars behind. What does Slovak law require?
A.Switch on the hazard lights and continue at your own speed
B.Drive in the middle of the lane to discourage risky overtaking
C.Speed up above the limit to keep traffic flowing smoothly
D.Let faster vehicles pass, pulling into the nearest parking area if needed
Explanation: Section 5(5) of Act No. 8/2009 obliges the driver of a vehicle over 3,500 kg driving uphill to let faster vehicles behind pass. If the situation requires, the driver must stop at the nearest parking area until they have passed.
8Where persons may lawfully be carried in a truck's load space, which condition applies under Slovak law?
A.The driver must be over 18, and up to 40 persons may be carried
B.Persons may also ride in the trailer if the truck's load space is full
C.Driver over 21 with 2 years' truck practice; at most 30 persons
D.No age or number limits apply if the load space has high sides
Explanation: Section 48(2) of Act No. 8/2009 allows only a driver over 21 with at least two years' practice driving trucks, limits the number to 30 and bans carrying persons in the truck's trailer. Section 48(1) also limits who may be carried, for example armed forces or civil-protection personnel.
9Persons are being carried lawfully in your truck's load space. Who makes sure they do not stand, lean out or let objects stick out?
A.Nobody; each person is responsible only for themselves
B.A person chosen by the operator or the driver
C.A police escort vehicle
D.The oldest passenger, who is automatically in charge
Explanation: Section 48(3) of Act No. 8/2009 says persons in a truck's load space must not stand, lean out, let objects stick out or otherwise endanger traffic. A person chosen from among them by the vehicle operator or the driver must see that these rules are kept.
10On 10 January a dry, clear road is expected along your whole route. What tyre rule applies to your category N3 truck?
A.None, as the road is dry
B.Winter tyres at least on one drive axle
C.Winter tyres must be fitted on every axle of the truck
D.Snow chains must be fitted on all wheels until 31 March
Explanation: Section 38(1) of Act No. 8/2009 requires M2, M3, N2 and N3 vehicles to have snow tyres (mountain symbol or M+S marking) at least on one drive axle from 15 November to 31 March, and also whenever snow, ice or frost covers the road. Dry weather in January does not remove the duty.

About the Slovakia Theory Test C Exam

Group C covers vehicles over 3,500 kg built to carry no more than 8 passengers besides the driver, with a trailer up to 750 kg. It can be granted only to a group B holder, normally from age 21 (from 18 after the basic qualification course). Applicants take an electronic theory test before the driving test: 40 random questions in 30 minutes, three answer choices each, and a pass mark of 90 out of 100 points (Decree 9/2009 § 18). For group C the test includes a cargo-safety question and a working-time question. The test is offered in Slovak, English and Hungarian. This independent OpenExamPrep bank has 80 original English four-option questions, two for each official question slot, written from Act 8/2009, Decree 30/2020, Regulation (EC) No 561/2006 and the MV SR pool. It is a study aid, not the official question pool or an exam simulation.
