About the Lok Sewa Section Officer Exam
The Public Service Commission (Lok Sewa Aayog) of Nepal runs open and inclusive competitions for Section Officer (Sakha Adhikrit), Gazetted Third Class, posts in the Administration, Audit, Foreign and Federal Parliament Services. Selection starts with the Stage I Administrative Aptitude Test, a 100-question multiple-choice screening test of general awareness, aptitude and English, followed by three subjective papers, IT and group tests, and an interview. The official papers may be answered in Nepali, English or both. This bank is independent practice by OpenExamPrep: an English-language MCQ study adaptation of the Stage I syllabus content. The PSC runs one combined examination for Section Officer posts in the Administration, Audit, Foreign and Federal Parliament Services; the Judicial Service has its own syllabus. Stage I is the Administrative Aptitude Test: 100 multiple-choice questions in 1 hour 30 minutes, covering general awareness (50), aptitude (30) and English (20), with a pass mark of 45 and a 20 percent deduction for each wrong answer. Calculators are not allowed. Under the amendment of 2082/08/22, Stage I is a screening test only and its marks are not counted in the final result.
