How many questions are on NEET UG and what is the marking scheme?
NEET UG has 200 questions in total (50 in each of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology). Candidates must attempt 180 questions (45 per subject, with 5 optional in Section B of each). Each correct answer earns +4 marks and each incorrect answer carries -1 negative mark. The maximum score is 720 marks.
When is NEET UG 2026 expected to be held?
NTA typically conducts NEET UG on the first Sunday of May. Registration usually opens in February-March. Always check neet.nta.nic.in for the official 2026 schedule and information bulletin.
What is the syllabus for NEET UG?
The NEET UG syllabus is based on NCERT Class 11 and Class 12 textbooks for Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany + Zoology). The National Medical Commission publishes the official syllabus, and NTA follows it closely for the question paper.
