About the ITI/NCVT Mason Building Constructor (AITT Theory) Exam
The CTS Mason (Building Constructor) trade trains candidates in brick and stone masonry, block work, scaffolding, concrete preparation and placement, plastering, pointing, tiling, and setting out foundation layouts. Professional knowledge covers safety, hand tools, material properties (cement, aggregates, lime, bricks, stone), mortar preparation, masonry bonds, curing, and building drainage. Successful trainees earn the National Trade Certificate (NTC) after AITT.
Assessment
One-year CTS trade (1200 hours + 150 hours OJT/group project), NSQF Level 4, trade code DGT/1020. Summative AITT includes Trade Practical plus Computer-Based Test. Engineering-trade CBT: 75 questions / 150 marks / 2 hours covering Trade Theory (with Workshop Science & Calculation and Engineering Drawing items) and Employability Skills.
