1What is the primary function of the Power-On Self-Test (POST) executed by the computer's BIOS/UEFI firmware during startup?
A.To compress user files stored on the secondary hard drive
B.To verify that essential hardware components such as CPU, RAM, and keyboard are operational before booting the OS
C.To establish a secure VPN connection to the corporate cloud server
D.To install missing application software updates automatically
Explanation: POST is a built-in firmware diagnostic routine that checks critical hardware subsystems (CPU, system memory, video display controller, input devices) for basic integrity before handing control to the operating system bootloader.
2An operator must hand a finished deck to a colleague so that double-clicking the file starts the slideshow immediately instead of opening the editing window. Which saved format achieves this in PowerPoint?
A.PowerPoint Show (.ppsx)
B.PowerPoint Presentation (.pptx)
C.Rich Text Format (.rtf)
D.Comma-Separated Values (.csv)
Explanation: Saving as PowerPoint Show (.ppsx) stores the same slides but tells Windows to launch them straight into full-screen slideshow mode. The default .pptx opens in the editing view, which is what you want while building the deck but not when handing it to a presenter.
3After inserting a company logo onto a slide, which handle should the operator drag to resize the image without distorting its proportions?
A.Any of the four side handles, at the midpoint of an edge
B.A corner handle, which scales width and height together
C.The rotation handle above the image
D.The slide's outer border
Explanation: Corner handles scale width and height at the same time, so the image keeps its original aspect ratio. Side handles stretch only one dimension, which visibly squashes or elongates a logo and is an immediate quality problem in a corporate deck.
4A presenter needs paper copies of a 30-slide deck for the audience, printed compactly with space beside each slide for notes. Which print setting should the operator choose?
A.Full Page Slides, one slide per sheet
B.Handouts, 3 slides per page
C.Notes Pages, one slide per sheet
D.Outline view
Explanation: The Handouts layout with 3 slides per page places the slides down the left side of the sheet and prints ruled note lines beside them, cutting a 30-slide deck to ten pages while giving the audience room to write.
5Which display interface connector uses an analog signal and features a blue 15-pin D-subminiature connector?
A.HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface)
B.VGA (Video Graphics Array)
C.DisplayPort
D.USB Type-C
Explanation: VGA uses a classic 15-pin 3-row DE-15 connector (traditionally colored blue) to transmit analog RGBHV video signals from the graphics card to analog monitors or CRT/early LCD displays.
6What is a distinguishing physical and electrical property of the USB Type-C connector compared to USB Type-A?
A.USB Type-C connectors can only be inserted in one single physical orientation
B.USB Type-C features a reversible 24-pin connector capable of carrying higher power delivery and multi-gigabit data protocols
C.USB Type-C requires analog coaxial cables and screw locks
D.USB Type-C is restricted to a maximum data transfer speed of 1.5 Mbps
Explanation: USB-C has a symmetrical, reversible 24-pin connector allowing plug insertion in either orientation, supporting USB Power Delivery (up to 100W-240W) and high-speed data standards (USB 3.2, USB4, Thunderbolt).
7Why should an operator apply a design template (theme) to a new presentation rather than formatting the fonts and colours of each slide by hand?
A.Because a template compresses the file to under one kilobyte
B.Because a template applies consistent fonts, colours, and placeholder layouts across every slide and can be changed in one step later
C.Because a template prevents the file from ever being edited again
D.Because slides without a template cannot be projected
Explanation: A theme defines the font set, colour palette, background, and placeholder positions once and applies them to the whole deck. Visual consistency is achieved without repetitive work, and switching theme later restyles every slide at once instead of requiring 30 manual edits.
8Which presentation feature automatically places the same slide number and organisation name at the bottom of every slide in a deck?
A.Insert > Header & Footer, with 'Apply to All' selected
B.Typing the text manually into a text box on each slide
C.The spell-checker
D.The transition gallery
Explanation: The Header & Footer dialog inserts repeating fields such as slide number, date, and footer text. Choosing 'Apply to All' writes them into the slide master area so they appear on every slide and renumber themselves automatically when slides are reordered.
9During a running slideshow, the presenter wants the screen to go completely black for a moment so the audience looks at the speaker instead of the slide. Which key does this in PowerPoint and LibreOffice Impress?
A.Esc
B.B (or the full stop key)
C.F1
D.Ctrl + P
Explanation: Pressing B (or '.') blanks the projected screen to black while the slideshow stays running; pressing the same key again restores the current slide. W (or ',') blanks to white. This lets a presenter pause visually without exiting and restarting the show.
10A web-based attendance application will not load and the browser reports that the site cannot be reached. What should the operator check first?
A.Whether the printer has paper loaded
B.Whether the workstation actually has a working network connection, for example the Wi-Fi or Ethernet status icon and access to another site
C.Whether the monitor brightness is set above 50 percent
D.Whether the keyboard language is set to Indonesian
Explanation: An internet-based application can only run once the workstation is connected. Confirming the network status indicator and testing a second site separates a local connectivity fault from a problem with the application server, which decides whether the operator fixes it or escalates it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What standard governs the BNSP Operator Komputer Muda certification?

The scheme packages six competency units from SKKNI (Standar Kompetensi Kerja Nasional Indonesia) Keputusan Menteri Ketenagakerjaan No. 56 Tahun 2018 for Pengoperasian Komputer, arranged according to the 2022 revision of the Peta Okupasi Bidang TIK. Licensed LSPs such as LSP Media Informatika, LSP TIKOM and LSP Teknologi Digital run the assessment.

Which competency units are assessed?

Five are common to every LSP package: J.63OPR00.002.2 Menggunakan Sistem Operasi, J.63OPR00.003.2 Menggunakan Peralatan Peripheral, J.63OPR00.004.2 Menggunakan Perangkat Lunak Pengolah Kata Tingkat Dasar, J.63OPR00.005.2 Menggunakan Perangkat Lunak Lembar Sebar (Spreadsheet) Tingkat Dasar, and J.63OPR00.006.2 Menggunakan Perangkat Lunak Presentasi Tingkat Dasar.
