Érettségi Német: Suggested Study Strategy

Master the Two-Way Prepositions (Wechselpräpositionen) rule: remember that spatial location or state of rest ('wo?') takes the Dativ case, while movement or direction across a boundary ('wohin?') demands the Akkusativ case.
Practice subordinate conjunction word order relentlessly: conjunctions like 'weil', 'dass', 'obwohl', 'wenn', and 'ob' push the conjugated verb to the very end of the clause, whereas coordinating conjunctions ('aber', 'denn', 'und', 'oder') maintain standard word order.
Systematize auxiliary selection for the Perfekt tense: use 'sein' for intransitive verbs signifying movement (fahren, gehen, fliegen), change of state (einschlafen, aufwachen, sterben), plus 'sein', 'werden', and 'bleiben'; use 'haben' for transitive, reflexive, and durative verbs.
Internalize German letter-writing standards: start formal correspondence with 'Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,' followed by a lowercase first word on the next line, and conclude with 'Mit freundlichen Grüßen' (with no comma at the end in German).
Dedicate daily listening practice to authentic spoken German: train with Deutsche Welle's 'Langsam gesprochene Nachrichten' and past Oktatási Hivatal audio recordings to acclimate to German, Austrian, and Swiss spoken accents.
Build a personal vocabulary ledger for high-frequency prepositions taking fixed cases: learn which prepositions always govern the Dative (aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu, gegenüber) versus the Accusative (durch, für, gegen, ohne, um).
