About the HK Truss-out Scaffolder (CIC) Exam
CIC Truss-out Scaffolder Safety Training certifies workers required under the Labour Department Code of Practice for Bamboo Scaffolding Safety (5th edition, effective 19 October 2024) to perform erection, addition, alteration or dismantling of truss-out scaffolds. Training and testing cover putlogs, bracing, ties, platforms, Form 5 inspections, fall protection, dismantling discipline and weather stops for bamboo and metal truss-out systems.
Assessment
CIC Advanced Level Truss-out Scaffolder Safety Training (TOS) and Intermediate Level (IOS): written test and practical assessment. Advanced applicants must hold the Bamboo Scaffolder Trade Test Certificate; IOS applicants must hold the Bamboo Scaffolder Intermediate Trade Test Certificate. Practical tests require a valid Green Card and suitable work wear including safety shoes.
