About the Bac ST2S Exam
The Baccalaureat Technologique ST2S is the French upper-secondary diploma for the Sciences et Technologies de la Sante et du Social series. Its two terminal speciality written exams, each carrying coefficient 16, are Sciences et techniques sanitaires et sociales (STSS, 3 hours) and Chimie, biologie et physiopathologie humaines (CBPH, 4 hours). STSS analyses health and social issues, the Securite sociale, the French health system and public-health and social-action policies, alongside a methodological pole. CBPH combines a Chimie part (coef 3, biomolecules, imaging, food safety, medicines) with a Biologie et physiopathologie humaines part (coef 13, body functions, homeostasis, diabetes, immunity, heredity). Together with French, Philosophy and the Grand oral, these exams prepare students for paramedical, social and university health-social courses.
