Assessment

Official written Sachsen-Anhalt Realschulabschluss examination in Mathematik, set centrally by the Ministerium für Bildung (Section 15 Abs. 1 Abschluss-VO Sek I). Consistent with the standard two-part Realschulabschluss Mathematik structure used across Land papers, the exam opens with a hilfsmittelfrei section covering basic skills and mental arithmetic without a calculator or Formelsammlung, then continues with a second section of more complex problems where a calculator and the official Formelsammlung are permitted; the Abschluss-VO Sek I sets the 180-minute total Prüfungszeit but does not publish an exact minute split between the two parts. Content is drawn from the Fachlehrplan Sekundarschule Mathematik (Realschulabschlussbezogener Unterricht, Schuljahrgänge 7/8 and 9/10), spanning the four Inhaltsbereiche Zahlen und Größen, Raum und Form, Zuordnungen und Funktionen, and Daten und Zufall, which build toward the KMK Bildungsstandards Mathematik für den Mittleren Schulabschluss. Mathematik is compulsory for every Schuljahrgang-10 candidate; an oral Mathematik exam only occurs if requested as one of up to two additional voluntary oral exams (Section 11 Abs. 2), lasting around 15 minutes after a 15-minute preparation period (Section 16 Abs. 2). This 100-question bank is an English-language MCQ study adaptation only - the real exam requires candidates to write out full worked solutions, not select from given options.

Time Limit

Written: 180 minutes Prüfungszeit (Section 15 Abs. 2 Abschluss-VO Sek I). Optional oral (only if requested): around 15 minutes, up to 20 minutes, after a 15-minute Vorbereitungszeit (Section 16 Abs. 2). In the 2026 main session the written Mathematik exam was set for Friday 17 April 2026; mündliche Prüfungen ran from 8 June to 3 July 2026, with Zeugnisse issued by 3 July 2026.

Passing Score

Results are reported as whole Schulnoten (1 sehr gut down to 6 ungenügend) - not the 0-15-Punkte scale used for the Sachsen-Anhalt Abitur. The Gesamtnote in Mathematik is normally the average of the Jahresnote and the written Prüfungsnote (Section 21 Abs. 2 Abschluss-VO Sek I); if a student also sits an additional voluntary oral Mathematik exam under Section 11 Abs. 2, the Gesamtnote instead averages a double-weighted Jahresnote, the written Prüfungsnote, and the additional oral Prüfungsnote (Section 21 Abs. 3). The Realschulabschluss itself is awarded on participation in the Abschlussprüfung combined with being versetzungsfähig under the Versetzungsverordnung (Section 5 Abschluss-VO Sek I) - there is no single published raw-percent pass mark for Mathematik alone. Mathematik is also one of the Kernfächer counted toward the stricter Notendurchschnitt thresholds (at least 2.3 in the Kernfächer) for the erweiterter Realschulabschluss, which grants access to the gymnasiale Oberstufe (Section 6 Abschluss-VO Sek I).
