Yes. The game is free to play with no sign-up. Signing in adds AI explanations for any term.

How do the New York RE Broker vocabulary games work?

There are 4 games built on 20 New York RE Broker terms. In Guess the Term, a clue describes one term and you have six tries to spell it, with green, yellow and gray letters showing how close you are. In Term Match, six terms appear as colored tiles; swap neighbors to line up three or more of the same term, and each match shows what the term means. In Term Pairs, twelve face-down cards hide six pairs of terms; flip two at a time to find each pair, and every pair you find shows what the term means. In Term Search, five terms hide in a grid of letters, reading across, down or diagonally; drag across a term to circle it, and each term you find shows what it means.

Where do the New York RE Broker terms come from?

OpenExamPrep researched each term from the New York Department of State (DOS) content outline and primary sources, listed under Sources on this page. The game is independent study material, not an official exam resource.

How hard is the New York real estate broker exam?

DOS does not publish a pass rate or a passing percentage: results are reported only as pass or fail, with no numerical score. The multiple-choice exam is based on the 152-hour pre-licensing curriculum, candidates get 2 1/2 hours, and DOS administers it directly. Passed results are valid for two years.

What are the prerequisites for a New York broker license?

You need a 75-hour broker qualifying course from a DOS-approved school (effective December 21, 2022), plus the 77-hour salesperson qualifying course prerequisite (152 total hours of education). You also need 2 years of experience as a licensed real estate salesperson, or 3 years of experience in the general real estate field (or a combination), meeting the DOS minimum points for the experience type. The experience requirement ensures practical knowledge before assuming supervisory responsibilities.
