1.1 Program Identity, Current Test Rules & Evidence Limits

The Saudi Skills Verification Program (SVP) is part of the Professional Accreditation framework overseen by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and delivered through the Professional Accreditation Center (PACC). Its purpose is to verify that a professional worker has the skills needed for the occupation in which the worker will be employed. MHRSD describes Skills Verification as covering practical and theoretical assessment for covered vocational occupations.

Exact Occupation Identity

The current PACC international occupation directory lists:

The name in a local study product may be shortened to Light Vehicle Mechanic, but the booking must use the occupation shown in PACC and must match the candidate's work or visa record. Do not substitute Auto Electrician, Automotive Primary Service, or Heavy Equipment Technician merely because some tools overlap.

What PACC Publishes About the Test

PACC's current public FAQ gives rules that apply across Skills Verification occupations:

• Methodology varies by occupation. A test may be computer-based only or may combine a computer-based component with a practical component.
• Maximum duration: PACC states that duration differs by occupation and the maximum is 120 minutes. It does not publish a separate 90-to-120-minute practical duration for this occupation.
• Languages offered at booking: Arabic, English, Hindi, Urdu, Filipino/Tagalog, Sinhala, Tamil, Bengali, and Nepali. Availability can depend on the booked occupation and session.
• Identity documents: Bring the original national identity card, residency card, or passport, as applicable, plus the test ticket.
• Arrival: PACC instructs candidates to reach the test center 30 minutes before the appointment.
• Attempts: A candidate may attempt the assessment up to three times, paying for each attempt.
• Combined retake rule: PACC states that if a candidate passes the practical component but fails the computer component, the complete assessment is repeated because the components are complementary.
• Cancellation or rescheduling: The public FAQ allows one cancellation or reschedule at least 72 hours before the appointment. A no-show is treated as a withdrawal, and the payment is not refunded.

PACC does not publish a question count, domain weights, a numeric cut score, station sequence, or the scoring rubric for General light vehicle mechanic. Do not invent any of those values.

Current Fees and Certificate Validity

The public PACC FAQ reviewed on 24 September 2026 states:

Payment is made by Visa or MasterCard after the candidate selects the methodology and occupation. PACC says paid amounts are non-refundable, except that a technical payment failure or a center cancellation may create account credit under the platform rules. Treat every fee as time-sensitive and verify the checkout amount before paying.

Certificate validity depends on the assessment methodology:

• Computer-based only: two years.
• Computer-based plus practical: five years.
• Recognition of Prior Learning: two years.

Evidence-Based Preparation Blueprint

PACC explicitly says it provides no review resources and that the assessment is based on the occupation registered in the work permit. Therefore, this guide does not label its chapter plan as an official PACC syllabus. Its preparation blueprint is derived from three independent evidence layers:

1. Current PACC identity and rules: exact occupation code/name, current program logistics, and live availability.
2. Current Saudi TVTC automotive training scope: fuel systems, power transmission, engine diagnosis and repair, brakes, steering and suspension, vehicle testing, electrical/electronic systems, emissions, workshop safety, and fault diagnosis.
3. Saudi-partner practical evidence: NAVTTC materials for the Takamol automotive trade identify practical tasks and current test-center equipment. Published tasks include front brake-pad replacement, shock-absorber replacement, valve-cover-gasket replacement, wheel balancing, engine-oil service, parking-brake adjustment, drive-belt replacement, and thermostat replacement. The current Auto Mechanic equipment list also includes scan tools, electrical testers, brake tools, alignment and balancing equipment, transmission tools, cooling equipment, and A/C recovery/service equipment.

These sources justify broad occupational preparation, but they do not prove that every candidate receives every listed task. The live booking, center instructions, and task sheet control on test day.

Candidate Action Plan

1. Search PACC for occupation 9151033 General light vehicle mechanic and confirm it matches the employment record.
2. Confirm the country, center, methodology, language, date, duration, documents, and checkout fee shown in the booking.
3. Prepare for both theory and hands-on work when the booking includes both components.
4. Practice safe, specification-led procedures instead of memorizing unofficial answer banks.
5. Use OEM service information for torque, fluid, clearance, pressure, refrigerant, and alignment specifications; generic values in study examples are not vehicle specifications.
6. Recheck the PACC FAQ shortly before the appointment for rule or fee changes.
