Can You Take the NENA ENP Exam?

Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements

Age
No published minimum age; candidates must meet the experience and points criteria.
Education
No specific degree required, but degrees grant eligibility points (Associate 2, Bachelor 4, Graduate 6).
Experience
Three years of full-time experience in Emergency Communications, OR three years with a commercial provider of emergency communications products and services.
Background Check
No NENA-administered background check; employer-specific CJIS / agency vetting still applies.
Additional Requirements
  • Accumulate 10 total eligibility points from experience, education, NENA courses (max 4 points), NENA office (max 1), CMCP (5 points), and other certifications (max 1).
  • Sign the Candidate Attestation in the online application and comply with all Handbook policies and deadlines.
  • Present a current driver's license, passport, or U.S. Military ID at the Prometric test center; the name must exactly match the Scheduling Authorization.
