High School Diploma, GED, or higher required for all tracks
Additional Requirements
  • Standard Track: successful completion of MEPAP 1 (APC) and MEPAP 2 (ADC) coursework
  • Work experience no longer required as of January 1, 2025 (Standard Track)
  • Experiential Track: at least 5 years of activities experience with at least 2 years directing, managing, or supervising a Social Model of Care program, plus 8 Domains of Practice essays (current NCCAP Experiential Track page / June 2025 Standards)
  • Professional Equivalency Track: allied health credential (AT-BC, MT-BC, COTA, CTRS, OTR) plus 10,000 hours in activities and 10 CE hours in MDS/care planning
  • Take exam within 30 days of receiving the testing company email
  • Personal laptop or desktop required for remote proctoring (tablets and Chromebooks not allowed)
  • Must use personal (non-work) email for testing company communications
