Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs)

These children typically are not cyanotic, but they exhibit signs of congestive heart failure: tachypnea, diaphoresis during feeding, poor weight gain, frequent respiratory infections, and a loud heart murmur.

Cyanotic Defects (Decreased Pulmonary Blood Flow): These defects involve a "right-to-left shunt."
