Additional Requirements
  • Online application submitted between March 1 and April 30
  • Official transcripts and supervisor letters due by May 31
  • Eligibility is valid for 3 years to pass the exam
  • Exam administered once per year in October at Pearson VUE centers
  • Recertify every 5 years via active practice, 100 CE credits, and expert knowledge maintenance

Retake Policy

Candidates who fail may retake the exam in subsequent years within their 3-year eligibility period by paying the $400 exam fee again. After eligibility expires, a new application and fee ($325) are required.
