Separated Countertop Spaces:

Countertop spaces separated by range tops, refrigerators, or sinks are considered separate countertop spaces. If there is an 18-inch countertop space to the left of the sink and a 36-inch space to the right, each space must be treated independently and have its own receptacle outlet(s).
