What Counts as a No-Fee Value-Added Service

The RSOS range of variables is specific. Value-added services include: basic installation, testing parts and batteries, recommending complementary products and services, on-site inventory management, discount pricing, and expediting services. The companion list under B-8.01 adds extended warranty, reporting and documentation, quality control, and storage fees.

Every one of these carries the same commercial consequence: once programmed, the part is non-returnable. Telling a retail customer this before the transaction protects both parties. Discovering it during a refund argument destroys the relationship.

Handling Limitations

  3. Check specialist aftermarket and online distributors who often continue producing legacy applications the OEM abandoned.

  • B-8.02.05P — inform of current and upcoming promotions/programs. Telling a customer that the filter they are buying at full price goes on a manufacturer rebate next week costs a few dollars today and buys credibility that no advertisement can.

After-Sales Follow-Up

B-8.02.06P closes the sub-task, and its evidence of attainment is precise: after-sales follow-up services are provided by confirming accuracy and quality of delivery.

That wording makes follow-up a verification activity:

  1. Did the right part arrive, in the right quantity, at the right place?
  2. Did it fit and function? A short call after a significant sale catches a wrong application while the vehicle is still apart and the part is still returnable.
  3. Was the delivery undamaged and on time?
  4. Is there anything outstanding — a backordered line, a core to collect, a credit to issue?

Follow-up also generates the information that feeds every other part of the job: recurring fitment problems become a training need under B-6.02, recurring delivery failures become a carrier conversation, and recurring wrong-part orders become a catalogue or cataloguing-skill problem. A department that never follows up never learns which of its transactions actually worked.
