Microsoft offers a second Beginner AI credential that people mix up with this one. Exam AB-730 earns Microsoft Certified: AI Business Professional. Neither exam is a consolation prize. An operations vice president who will rarely click Researcher still needs AB-731-style judgment about licenses, Foundry, and an AI council. An analyst who will never sit on that council still needs AB-730-style craft in Copilot. Taking both is reasonable if your role spans strategy and daily production. Substituting one for the other is a mismatch: AB-730 will not ask you to choose Foundry commitment tiers, and AB-731 will not live in the ribbon of Excel.
