Can You Take the ASIS APP Exam?

Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements

Age
No minimum age set by ASIS, but applicants must meet the experience and integrity requirements.
Education
Bachelor's degree (1+ year experience), associate degree (2+ years), or high school diploma/equivalent (3+ years) acceptable per current ASIS APP requirements.
Experience
1-3 years of progressive security responsibility depending on education level, with a six-month reduction available for holders of an ASIS-approved related certification.
Background Check
Candidates attest to professional integrity and acknowledge the ASIS Code of Ethics; ASIS verifies experience via references.
Additional Requirements
  • Active CPP holders are ineligible to also hold the APP credential.
  • Three professional references and a supervisor verification are required.
  • Application includes resume, application fee, exam fee, and acknowledgment of ASIS policies.
