About the VTCAP Science Grade 11 Exam
The VTCAP Science Grade 11 assessment measures student proficiency on Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) high school performance expectations in Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Earth & Space Sciences.
Assessment
The official VTCAP Grade 11 Science test is computer-adaptive and reports three indicators: Practices and Crosscutting Concepts in Physical Sciences (35% of points), Life Sciences (35%) and Earth and Space Sciences (30%). At least 10% of points are high cognitive complexity and no more than 35% are low. Three items are human-scored open responses. Our practice bank provides 100 multiple-choice items at easy (30%), medium (50%) and hard (20%) difficulty; it does not reproduce the adaptive engine, the multi-part cluster items, or the open-ended responses.

Untimed; scheduling estimate is two sessions totalling about 150-160 minutes
