It covers irrational numbers, scientific notation, linear equations and systems, functional relationships, the Pythagorean Theorem, transformations, volume, and bivariate data statistics.

Fifty operational items assessing the 2025 South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Mathematics Standards: Data, Probability, and Statistical Reasoning 8-10 items; Measurement, Geometry, and Spatial Reasoning 15-19; Numerical Reasoning 7-9; Patterns, Algebra, and Functional Reasoning 14-18. Depth of Knowledge ranges are DOK 1 at 15-40%, DOK 2 at 55-85%, and DOK 3 at 0-10%.

Not timed. SCDE publishes an approximate 100 minutes for grades 6-8 mathematics for scheduling only. The test is given in a single day in two sections; in Spring 2026 the No Calculator section is presented first, followed by the Calculator section.
