The SC READY Mathematics Grade 4 assessment measures 4th grade students' mastery of South Carolina College- and Career-Readiness Standards for Mathematics. The test evaluates standard mastery across Operations & Algebraic Thinking, Base Ten Operations, Fraction & Decimal Concepts, Measurement & Data, and Geometry.

Fifty operational items assessing the 2025 South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Mathematics Standards: Data, Probability, and Statistical Reasoning 7-9 items; Measurement, Geometry, and Spatial Reasoning 12-15; Numerical Reasoning 12-15; Patterns, Algebra, and Functional Reasoning 15-19. Depth of Knowledge ranges are DOK 1 at 15-40%, DOK 2 at 55-85%, and DOK 3 at 0-10%.

Not timed. SCDE publishes an approximate 60 minutes for grades 3-5 mathematics for scheduling only. For Spring 2026 only, because of an increased number of field-test items, SC READY Mathematics grades 3-5 is administered in two sessions over two days (Math Part A and Math Part B).
