About the OSTP Math Grade 6 Exam
The OSTP Grade 6 Mathematics assessment measures proficiency against the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Mathematics. It covers integers and rational numbers, ratios, algebraic expressions and equations, transformations and area, angle relationships and unit conversion, and data and probability.
Exam sponsor: Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE); delivered under contract by Cognia. The requirements and fees below concern the certification or admission exam, separate from our free practice resources.

How many questions are on the official OSTP Grade 6 Math test?
The official test contains 50 operational items plus 10 field-test items, for 60 items in total. Only the 50 operational items contribute to a student's score.
Is a calculator allowed in Grade 6 mathematics?
Yes. For Grades 6-8 mathematics OSDE provides a formula sheet and an online calculator in the testing toolbox, and students may also use an approved handheld calculator. A Desmos calculator is available in the OSTP Student Kiosk.
