About the OSTP Math Grade 3 Exam
The OSTP Grade 3 Mathematics assessment measures proficiency against the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Mathematics. Nearly half of the test is Number and Operations — place value, multiplication and division facts, fractions and money — with the balance in geometry and measurement, patterns and equations, and data.
Exam sponsor: Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE); delivered under contract by Cognia. The requirements and fees below concern the certification or admission exam, separate from our free practice resources.

How many questions are on the official OSTP Grade 3 Math test?
The official test contains 50 operational items plus 10 field-test items, for 60 items in total. Only the 50 operational items contribute to a student's score.
Can Grade 3 students use a calculator?
Not in general. Under the SY 25-26 OSTP calculator policy, approved calculators are available in Grades 3-5 mathematics only for students with the appropriate documented accommodation.
Is there a passing score?
No. Results are reported on the Oklahoma Performance Index scale of 200–399, where 300 is always Proficient, and in four performance levels: Below Basic, Basic, Proficient and Advanced.
Is the Grade 3 Math test available in Spanish?
