The OSTP Grade 5 Mathematics assessment measures proficiency against the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Mathematics. Number and Operations dominates the blueprint — fraction and decimal arithmetic and multi-digit division — with volume, coordinate graphing, and data display rounding out the test.

The official test contains 50 operational items plus 10 field-test items, for 60 items in total. Only the 50 operational items contribute to a student's score.
