About the A-Level Chinese (Mandarin) Exam
A-Level Chinese (Mandarin) is offered by AQA (specification 7672) and Edexcel/Pearson (9CN0). The course assesses listening, reading, writing, translation and speaking through six AQA themes (changes in family/society, cyber-society, modern Chinese ideology, contemporary art and culture, cultural heritage, immigration) and study of at least one prescribed film or literary work such as Hero, Farewell My Concubine, To Live, or The True Story of Ah Q.
