Try these sample questions to review concepts for the Ukraine Theory Test T exam. Each question includes a detailed explanation. Start the interactive quiz above for the full 40+ question experience with AI tutoring.

1At an uncontrolled intersection of equivalent roads that is not a roundabout, a tram and car have conflicting paths. Which has priority?
A.The car if it approaches from the right
B.The tram regardless of its direction of movement
C.The car whenever it is going straight
D.The vehicle that reaches the conflict first
Explanation: The tram has priority over non-rail vehicles at this type of equivalent-road intersection. Do not extend this rule to an uncontrolled roundabout or to a tram entering from a secondary road.
2A main green signal permits a tram and a non-rail vehicle to move simultaneously through an intersection, and their paths conflict. Which has priority under the general simultaneous-green rule?
A.The non-rail vehicle if going straight
B.The tram regardless of its direction
C.The non-rail vehicle if approaching from the right
D.Neither may move until the other signal turns red
Explanation: When the controlling signal permits both movements simultaneously, the tram has priority over non-rail vehicles. A movement authorized only by an additional arrow alongside red or yellow has a separate yielding rule.
3A tram is leaving a depot onto a road used by cars. What priority rule applies to that departure?
A.Cars must always stop for any tram
B.The departing tram must yield to road traffic
C.The tram has priority after sounding its bell
D.The widest vehicle goes first
Explanation: Leaving a depot is an exception to the tram's normal non-intersection priority. The tram must yield to other vehicles moving on the road.
4A tram approaches an uncontrolled intersection on a signed secondary road. A lorry approaches on the main road. Who must yield?
A.The lorry because all trams have priority
B.The tram because it is on the secondary road
C.The vehicle approaching from the left regardless of signs
D.The vehicle that intends to turn
Explanation: Main-road priority applies over traffic from a secondary road. The tram's equivalent-road preference does not override that difference in road priority.
5Outside an intersection, tram tracks cross a lane used by non-rail vehicles. The tram is not leaving a depot, and no controlling signal changes the situation. Which vehicle has priority?
A.The non-rail vehicle on the lane
B.The tram
C.The faster vehicle
D.The vehicle with the shorter stopping distance
Explanation: The PDR gives the tram priority at this non-intersection crossing, with a depot-exit exception. Drivers must identify whether they are dealing with an intersection or a separate track crossing.
6Which track layout is essential for ordinary road-vehicle use under the PDR same-direction tram-track rule, assuming signs and markings permit it?
A.Any track, including the opposing track, if traffic is congested
B.Same-direction track level with the carriageway, without obstructing trams
C.A raised segregated track if the road lanes are full
D.An opposing track if no tram is currently visible
Explanation: The permission concerns same-direction tracks at carriageway level and remains subject to signs, markings, and non-obstruction of trams. Opposing and segregated tracks are prohibited for this ordinary use.
7Same-direction tram tracks lie level with the carriageway. No sign or marking prescribes another turning arrangement. From where should a car make its left turn?
A.The rightmost lane
B.The same-direction tram track, without obstructing a tram
C.The opposing tram track
D.Any lane if the left indicator is on
Explanation: The PDR prescribes the same-direction level track for this left turn unless signs or markings establish another arrangement. The car must not obstruct tram movement.
8A car lawfully using a same-direction tram track is approached by a tram from behind. What continuing obligation does the car driver have?
A.Stay on the track until the next scheduled tram stop
B.Clear the track safely so as not to obstruct the tram
C.Maintain the obstruction until the next intersection
D.Keep priority because it entered the track first
Explanation: Permission to use the track is conditional on not obstructing tram movement. The driver must make a safe move clear rather than remain in the tram's path.
9What general settlement speed ceiling applies to a trolleybus where no different signed or operational limit governs?
A.30 km/h
B.50 km/h
C.60 km/h
D.70 km/h
Explanation: The general PDR settlement ceiling is 50 km/h. Vehicle instructions, route restrictions, and actual conditions can require a lower speed.
10When is an acoustic warning permitted under the general PDR rule in a settlement?
A.To signal every scheduled departure
B.When necessary to prevent a traffic collision
C.To request priority over a red light
D.Whenever the driver is behind schedule
Explanation: The settlement rule permits an acoustic signal where necessary to prevent a collision. A warning signal does not itself create priority or remove the need to brake.

Ukraine Theory Test T: Suggested Study Strategy

1Learn the actual Ukrainian four-lamp white-moon signal combinations; do not import a foreign bar-signal system.
2Practise tram-priority exceptions, especially depot exits, secondary roads and uncontrolled roundabouts.
3Use the current vehicle and route instructions for electrical equipment; avoid universal speed, voltage or clearance assumptions.
4Review the official pre-service inspections and conditions prohibiting operation.
5Practise first aid and operating procedures with qualified instructors; MCQs cannot demonstrate safe performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the official MIA test format and fee?

The theory test consists of 20 computer-based questions, takes 20 minutes and allows at most two mistakes. Its fee is 250 UAH per attempt, excluding payment commission.

What does Category T cover?

Category T covers trams and trolleybuses. It is not the agricultural tractor classification.

What training precedes Category T licensing?

The minimum age is 21 and the required professional training and qualification documents must be obtained. HSC MIA's January 2026 trolleybus guidance specifies full secondary education, at least Category B, the relevant course and a state-standard trolleybus-driver certificate before the MIA theory test. The study questions do not replace that route.

Is there a subsequent MIA practical exam after this theory test?

Category T's MIA assessment is theory, following the required professional training and qualification. Practical operating competence belongs to that professional route; the theory test is not a substitute for it.

Is this an official English translation or exam simulator?

No. This is an independent English-language MCQ study adaptation. Official English testing is available to legally present foreign and stateless candidates, and HSC MIA publishes its own questions. Vehicle-specific operating instructions and practical safety training remain essential.
