1Which material is excluded from the scope of KKDİK, rather than merely benefiting from a registration exemption?
A.A polymer used to manufacture packaging
B.A substance listed in a registration-exemption annex
C.A radioactive substance covered by the regulation on safe transport of radioactive material
D.A registered substance recovered in Turkey under the conditions for recovery exemptions
Explanation: KKDİK excludes the specified radioactive substances from its scope. A registration exemption for another material does not necessarily remove its classification, restriction or supply-chain obligations.
2A non-Turkish manufacturer appoints a suitably qualified Tek Temsilci established in Turkey for a covered substance. What happens to the covered Turkish importers' status under KKDİK?
A.They remain the registrants while the representative only translates their dossiers
B.They become distributors solely because a representative was appointed
C.They are treated as downstream users while the representative fulfils the importer obligations
D.They lose all duties concerning safe use of the substance
Explanation: The Tek Temsilci assumes the importer obligations for the imports covered by the appointment. Those importers are treated as downstream users, so the appointment does not eliminate their safe-use responsibilities.
3Which Turkish SEA signal word identifies the more severe hazard categories?
A.Dikkat
B.Tehlike
C.Uyarı
D.Zararlı
Explanation: SEA uses Tehlike (Danger) for the more severe categories and Dikkat (Warning) for less severe categories where a signal word is assigned. The prescribed wording should be retained on the Turkish label.
4For a substance subject to the general KKDİK registration rules, with no applicable exemption, at what annual quantity per registrant does the Chemical Safety Report requirement begin?
A.1 tonne
B.5 tonnes
C.10 tonnes
D.100 tonnes
Explanation: The general Chemical Safety Assessment and Chemical Safety Report requirement begins at 10 tonnes per year per registrant. The requirement to register and the requirement to prepare a KGR have different thresholds.
5An intermediate is formed and consumed during synthesis without being intentionally removed from the synthesis equipment. Which KKDİK description best fits it?
A.An on-site isolated intermediate because it remains at one factory
B.A non-isolated intermediate, which is outside KKDİK's scope
C.A transported isolated intermediate because it moves inside the reactor
D.A polymer because it undergoes a further reaction
Explanation: The relevant distinction is whether the intermediate is intentionally removed from the equipment during synthesis. A non-isolated intermediate is excluded from KKDİK's scope; an isolated intermediate can instead have conditional, reduced registration requirements.
6What is a principal purpose of a Madde Bilgisi Değişim Forumu (MBDF) under KKDİK?
A.Pooling company-specific uses so no member needs to identify its own uses
B.Sharing substance data to prevent repeated studies and resolving classification differences
C.Replacing the need to establish that members register the same substance
D.Transferring every member's legal responsibility to the lead registrant
Explanation: An MBDF supports sharing the information needed for registration and avoiding duplicate studies. It also provides a means to seek agreement where potential registrants differ on classification and labelling.
7Which code on a SEA label identifies a standard hazard statement describing the nature of a hazard?
A.P210
B.H225
C.A transport UN number
D.A CAS number
Explanation: H codes identify standard hazard statements; H225 describes a highly flammable liquid and vapour. Precautionary statements, transport identifiers and substance identifiers serve different communication functions.
8Which Turkish regulation is the appropriate starting point for finding statutory workplace-air exposure limits for chemical agents?
A.Kimyasalların Kaydı, Değerlendirilmesi, İzni ve Kısıtlanması Hakkında Yönetmelik
B.Kimyasal Maddelerle Çalışmalarda Sağlık ve Güvenlik Önlemleri Hakkında Yönetmelik
C.Büyük Endüstriyel Kazaların Önlenmesi ve Etkilerinin Azaltılması Hakkında Yönetmelik
D.Atık Yönetimi Yönetmeliği
Explanation: The workplace chemical-agents regulation contains occupational exposure-limit provisions. A DNEL derived for registration is a distinct assessment value and should not simply be substituted for a binding workplace limit.
9For an ADR substance assigned a packing group, which group denotes the highest degree of danger?
A.Packing Group I
B.Packing Group II
C.Packing Group III
D.The group number always equals the transport hazard class
Explanation: Packing Group I denotes high danger, II medium danger and III low danger. A packing group describes degree of danger and is distinct from the transport hazard class.
10Under KKDİK's information-retention rule, for how long must the required information remain available after the last manufacture, import, supply or use of a substance or mixture?
A.At least 3 years
B.At least 5 years
C.At least 10 years
D.Only until the last stock is sold
Explanation: KKDİK requires the information needed to fulfil its duties to remain available for at least 10 years after the relevant last activity. Ending production or selling the final stock does not immediately end that duty.

About the KMO KDU Chemical Assessment Expert Exam

Independent practice by OpenExamPrep for Kimyasal Değerlendirme Uzmanı (KDU), the chemical assessment qualification governed by Turkey's KKDİK Ek-18. Study legislation, SEA hazard classification, chemical management, human and environmental risk calculations, exposure scenarios, chemical safety reports, registration dossiers and GBF preparation. KMO-associated training leads to assessment by an accredited certification body, rather than a distinct KMO national examination.

Exam sponsor: Accredited personnel certification bodies under KKDİK Ek-18; KMO is a training organizer. Verified certification examples: TÜV Austria and TSE.. The requirements and fees below concern the certification or admission exam, separate from our free practice resources.

KMO KDU Chemical Assessment Expert: Suggested Study Strategy

1Separate KKDİK registration, classification, restriction and supply-chain obligations; an exemption from one duty does not necessarily remove another.
2Use the route-specific SEA criteria and check specific concentration limits before applying generic mixture rules.
3Show units and assumptions in DNEL, PNEC and exposure calculations. Supplied exercise factors are not universal defaults.
4Match each exposure estimate to its population, route, effect, duration and environmental compartment before calculating an RCR.
5Practise complete Turkish written responses and document preparation in addition to these English MCQs.
