Try these sample questions to review concepts for the Diyanet KKÖ Sözlü Sınavı exam. Each question includes a detailed explanation. Start the interactive quiz above for the full 20+ question experience with AI tutoring.

1Which distinction should a recitation teacher preserve between س and ص?
A.Their distinct consonant identities and articulation qualities
B.Only their written shape, since their sounds are interchangeable
C.A difference in vowel length rather than consonant quality
D.A difference that appears only at the end of a surah
Explanation: Arabic consonant contrasts must be preserved in recitation. Recognizing their names on a page does not demonstrate the ability to articulate them, so oral feedback remains essential.
2In connected recitation, which following letter causes nūn sākinah or tanwin to receive iklâb?
A.ه
B.ب
C.ر
D.ع
Explanation: The following bā causes iklâb. The preceding nūn or tanwin is treated toward a concealed mīm sound with nasal resonance.
3A learner applies nasal assimilation to the nūn in مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ. What correction targets the relevant rule?
A.Convert the nūn to mīm because rā follows
B.Apply throat-letter izhar because rā is a throat letter
C.Use idgam without ghunnah before rā
D.Add a short vowel to separate the two words
Explanation: Rā is one of the letters receiving idgam bilâ gunne after nūn sākinah or tanwin. The learner must distinguish this from the idgam group that retains ghunnah.
4Which boundary in a connected reading calls for ihfa of nūn sākinah?
A.نْ ه
B.نْ ب
C.نْ ر
D.نْ ت
Explanation: Tā is among the ihfa letters. The other boundaries represent izhar, iklâb, and idgam without ghunnah, respectively.
5What occurs where مْ is followed by a voweled م during connected reading?
A.Assimilation of the two mīms with ghunnah
B.Throat-letter izhar
C.Iklâb of nūn into mīm
D.Medd-i munfasıl
Explanation: Identical adjacent mīms in this configuration receive idgam misleyn with ghunnah. This should be distinguished from the labial concealment of mīm before bā.
6In لَكُمْ دِينُكُمْ, what treatment applies to the first مْ before د?
A.Labial concealment before bā
B.Clear mīm pronunciation (izhar-i şefevî)
C.Assimilation into another mīm
D.Conversion of mīm to nūn
Explanation: Mīm sākinah before a letter other than mīm or bā receives clear labial pronunciation. Here the following dāl distinguishes it from both mīm assimilation and labial concealment.
7Which contrast correctly describes the article lām in الشَّمْس and الْقَمَر?
A.It is pronounced separately in both
B.It is assimilated in both
C.It is assimilated before ش but pronounced distinctly before ق
D.It is pronounced before ش but assimilated before ق
Explanation: Shīn is a sun letter, so the article lām assimilates into it. Qāf is a moon letter, so the article lām remains distinctly pronounced.
8Which condition identifies medd-i munfasıl?
A.A madd letter followed by permanent sukūn within its word
B.A madd letter followed by same-word hamzah
C.A short vowel before a doubled consonant without a madd letter
D.A madd letter at one word's end followed by hamzah at the next word's beginning
Explanation: Munfasıl identifies the word boundary between the madd letter and the causing hamzah. Same-word hamzah instead identifies muttasıl.
9A final consonant receives sukūn only because the reciter stops. If it follows a madd letter, which category identifies that temporary cause?
A.Medd-i ârız
B.Medd-i lâzım
C.Medd-i muttasıl
D.İklâb
Explanation: Ârız denotes the stopping-related temporary sukūn after a madd letter. It should not be confused with the permanent sukūn of lâzım.
10Which description distinguishes sekte from an ordinary breath-taking pause?
A.It interrupts the sound while requiring a new breath
B.It interrupts the sound briefly without taking a new breath
C.It connects the words with neither a sound interruption nor a new breath
D.It means ending recitation with no intention to continue
Explanation: The official elifbâ defines sekte as cutting the sound without taking breath. Its prescribed places and oral execution should be learned with a teacher rather than inferred from a universal timing formula.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which education and written-score prerequisites apply?

All three advertised 2026 KKÖ groups require İlahiyat Fakültesi graduation and at least 50 in 2024 KPSSP124. The male group and one female group require hafızlık. The notice's associate-degree and İHL routes belong to other imam-hatip groups, not these KKÖ vacancies. Other statutory and shortlisting conditions apply.

Are fee, duration and item count published?

The central call does not state a fee, fixed per-candidate duration or fixed oral item count. These values remain unpublished here.

What follows the oral examination?

Candidates must meet the threshold and rank within quota. The notice then provides for Academy training and assessments; an oral pass alone does not confer permanent appointment.

How should this bank be used?
