Sample VPR (ВПР) Practice Questions

Try these sample questions to review concepts for the VPR (ВПР) exam. Each question includes a detailed explanation. Start the interactive quiz above for the full 100+ question experience with AI tutoring.

1[Grade 4 Math] What is the product of 438 multiplied by 6?
A.2,628
B.2,588
C.2,648
D.2,428
Explanation: Multiplying step-by-step: 400 × 6 = 2,400; 30 × 6 = 180; 8 × 6 = 48. Adding these partial products gives 2,400 + 180 + 48 = 2,628.
2[Grade 4 Math] What is the value of the numerical expression: 54 - 36 ÷ 4 + 7?
A.38
B.52
C.11.5
D.45
Explanation: According to the standard order of operations, division must be performed before addition and subtraction. First, 36 ÷ 4 = 9. Then evaluate from left to right: 54 - 9 = 45, and 45 + 7 = 52.
3[Grade 4 Math] A rectangular school garden plot has a length of 14 meters and a width of 9 meters. What is the perimeter of the plot in meters?
A.46 m
B.126 m
C.23 m
D.92 m
Explanation: The perimeter of a rectangle is calculated using the formula P = 2 × (length + width). Here, P = 2 × (14 + 9) = 2 × 23 = 46 meters.
4[Grade 4 Math] When 327 is divided by 5, what are the quotient and the remainder?
A.Quotient 64, remainder 7
B.Quotient 65, remainder 4
C.Quotient 63, remainder 2
D.Quotient 65, remainder 2
Explanation: Dividing 327 by 5: 32 tens divided by 5 gives 6 tens (60) with 2 tens remaining. Bringing down 7 gives 27 units. 27 divided by 5 gives 5 units with a remainder of 2. Thus, 327 = 5 × 65 + 2.
5[Grade 4 Math] A teacher purchases 4 boxes of colored pencils at 85 rubles per box and 3 drawing albums at 120 rubles each. How much change does she receive from a 1,000-ruble banknote?
A.300 rubles
B.340 rubles
C.700 rubles
D.260 rubles
Explanation: Cost of pencil boxes: 4 × 85 = 340 rubles. Cost of albums: 3 × 120 = 360 rubles. Total expenditure: 340 + 360 = 700 rubles. Change from 1,000 rubles: 1,000 - 700 = 300 rubles.
6[Grade 4 Math] An intercity passenger train departs from station A at 14:45 and arrives at station B at 18:20 on the same day. What was the exact duration of the journey?
A.3 hours 25 minutes
B.3 hours 35 minutes
C.4 hours 35 minutes
D.3 hours 45 minutes
Explanation: From 14:45 to 15:00 is 15 minutes. From 15:00 to 18:00 is 3 hours. From 18:00 to 18:20 is 20 minutes. Total travel time = 3 hours + 15 min + 20 min = 3 hours 35 minutes.
7[Grade 4 Math] A vegetable depot received 3 tons 450 kilograms of potatoes and 1 ton 800 kilograms of carrots. What is the total mass of the vegetables received, expressed in kilograms?
A.4,250 kg
B.5,150 kg
C.5,250 kg
D.5,450 kg
Explanation: Since 1 ton = 1,000 kg, 3 tons 450 kg = 3,450 kg, and 1 ton 800 kg = 1,800 kg. Adding them gives 3,450 + 1,800 = 5,250 kg.
8[Grade 4 Math] A rectangular hall measures 8 meters in length and 5 meters in width. A square utility room measuring 3 meters on each side is partitioned off in one corner. What is the remaining floor area of the hall?
A.28 sq m
B.37 sq m
C.40 sq m
D.31 sq m
Explanation: Total initial area of the hall: 8 × 5 = 40 m². Area of the square utility room: 3 × 3 = 9 m². Remaining area = 40 - 9 = 31 m².
9[Grade 5 Math] What is the sum of the fractions 5/12 + 7/18 expressed in lowest terms?
A.29/36
B.12/30
C.31/36
D.13/18
Explanation: The least common denominator (LCD) of 12 and 18 is 36. Convert both fractions: 5/12 = (5 × 3)/(12 × 3) = 15/36, and 7/18 = (7 × 2)/(18 × 2) = 14/36. Adding the numerators: 15/36 + 14/36 = 29/36, which is irreducible.
10[Grade 5 Math] Calculate the difference: 4 3/8 - 1 5/8.
A.3 2/8
B.2 3/4
C.2 2/8
D.3 6/8
Explanation: Since 3/8 is less than 5/8, regroup 1 whole from 4: 4 3/8 = 3 + 1 + 3/8 = 3 11/8. Now subtract: 3 11/8 - 1 5/8 = (3 - 1) + (11/8 - 5/8) = 2 6/8. Simplifying 6/8 by dividing numerator and denominator by 2 gives 2 3/4.

VPR (ВПР): Suggested Study Strategy

1Pay attention to units of measurement when solving arithmetic and geometric word problems (e.g., converting meters to centimeters).
2For Russian language VPR tasks, practice identifying the root of related words to choose the correct unstressed vowel.
3Review official FIOKO demonstration variants for your specific grade level to understand task distribution and recommended completion timing.
