1Which code of practice sets the list of buildings, structures, rooms and equipment that must be protected by automatic fire extinguishing installations and fire alarm systems?
A.SP 484.1311500
B.SP 486.1311500
C.SP 485.1311500
D.SP 3.13130
Explanation: SP 486.1311500.2020 (with Change No. 1 from 16 June 2025) lists which buildings, structures, rooms and equipment must be protected by automatic extinguishing (АУП) and fire alarm systems (СПС). The systems themselves are then designed to SP 484.1311500 and SP 485.1311500.
2Under paragraph 6.1.5 of SP 484.1311500, what is the general limit on detectors connected to one fire alarm control panel (ППКП)?
A.No more than 512 detectors covering no more than 12,000 m²
B.No more than 128 detectors covering no more than 2000 m² of floor area
C.No more than 1024 detectors with no area limit
D.No more than 256 detectors covering no more than 5000 m²
Explanation: One panel may serve no more than 512 detectors controlling no more than 12,000 m². More detectors and up to 48,000 m² are allowed if the panel is protected against system errors, or if a system error would lose contact with no more than 512 detectors.
3Under paragraph 6.3.4 of SP 484.1311500 (Change No. 1), what is the maximum area of one fire alarm control zone (ЗКСПС)?
A.500 m²
B.1000 m²
C.2000 m²
D.5000 m²
Explanation: One ЗКСПС must not exceed 2000 m². It may combine no more than 5 adjacent and isolated rooms on one floor in one fire compartment, with exits no more than 10 m apart and a total area of no more than 500 m². All rooms of one apartment or hotel room may form one zone regardless of area.
4Under paragraph 6.3.5 of SP 484.1311500, what may a single fault in a communication or power line of the fire alarm system cause at most?
A.Up to 64 detectors in one loop
B.An entire floor, if a backup panel exists
C.Up to 32 automatic detectors and up to 2 manual call points within the same loop line
D.Up to 24 automatic detectors and 1 call point, never both types, within 1 zone
Explanation: A single fault must not lose contact with more than 24 automatic detectors or more than 1 manual call point, must not lose automatic and manual detectors at the same time, and must not lose detectors of more than one ЗКСПС.
5Under paragraph 6.3.3 of SP 484.1311500, which of these must be made into a separate fire alarm control zone (ЗКСПС)?
A.Each office desk area
B.Each pair of adjacent toilets
C.Every corridor longer than 10 m, measured along its centre line
D.A stairwell or other space connecting two or more floors
Explanation: Separate zones are required for apartments, hotel rooms and other rooms used by separate owners or tenants; stairwells, cable and lift shafts and other spaces connecting two or more floors; corridors with exits from two or more fire compartments; spaces above false ceilings and under false floors; and isolated rooms or groups of them.
6Under paragraph 6.4.2 of SP 484.1311500, how is the fire decision made under algorithm A?
A.When one detector operates, without a re-query
B.When two detectors in the same room operate
C.When one detector operates again within 60 s after a re-query
D.When a manual call point and a detector operate together
Explanation: Algorithm A means the fire decision is made when one detector operates, without any re-query procedure.
7Under paragraph 6.4.3 of SP 484.1311500 (Change No. 1), how is algorithm B performed?
A.A detector operates and the duty operator then confirms the fire by phone with on-site security
B.Two detectors in different rooms operate within 10 minutes
C.Re-operation within 60 s after an automatic re-query, or a second zone detector within 60 s
D.A detector operates three times within 5 minutes
Explanation: Algorithm B is met when an automatic detector operates and the same detector operates again within 60 s after an automatic re-query, or (as one variant) another automatic detector of the same zone operates within 60 s of the first.
8Under paragraph 6.4.4 of SP 484.1311500, when is algorithm C performed?
A.When one detector operates without a re-query and the panel confirms it after a delay
B.When a manual call point is pressed
C.When the panel loses power
D.One automatic detector, then another in the same room (same or other zone)
Explanation: Algorithm C is performed when one automatic detector operates and then another automatic detector, of the same or another zone, located in the same room operates. Each point of the room must therefore be covered by at least two detectors.
9Under paragraphs 6.4.5 and 7.6.2 of SP 484.1311500, which fire decision algorithm must be used for a ЗКСПС that generates control signals to start an automatic extinguishing installation (except sprinkler systems)?
A.Algorithm A
B.Algorithm B
C.Any algorithm chosen by the designer
D.Algorithm C
Explanation: Algorithms A and B may be used only for zones that do not generate control signals for automatic extinguishing. The automatic control signal for such an installation is formed when the alarm system goes into 'Fire' mode after algorithm C, or from the installation's own detection means.
10Under paragraph 6.6.1 of SP 484.1311500 (Change No. 1), how many detectors must cover a room for algorithms A and B?
A.One addressable detector, or two non-addressable ones, covering each point
B.Always three detectors
C.One non-addressable detector for any room, plus a manual call point at the exit
D.Four detectors in every room
Explanation: For algorithms A and B, the room must be covered by at least two non-addressable automatic detectors (each point covered by two) or by at least one addressable automatic detector (each point covered by one). Algorithm C needs at least two automatic detectors covering each point.
