A.10 years old
B.8 years old
C.12 years old

A.All cyclists regardless of age, including adults
B.Minors between 10 and 18 years of age
C.Only children between 7 and 10 years of age
D.Adults aged 18 to 65 who do not hold a category B driving licence
Explanation: Article 7(1)(2) of the Act on Vehicle Drivers makes the bicycle card, or a category AM, A1, B1, B or T licence, the document that confirms the right of a person under 18 to ride a bicycle. Adults need no document.
3How does the Road Traffic Act treat a 9-year-old riding a bicycle under the care of an adult?
A.As a motor vehicle driver
B.As an independent cyclist with full carriageway rights
C.As a pedestrian (pieszy)
D.As a passenger
Explanation: Article 2(18) of the Road Traffic Act counts a child up to 10 years old riding a bicycle under the care of an adult as a pedestrian.

A.On the roadway, close to the right edge
B.On a cycle lane marked on the roadway
C.Anywhere, as long as the adult rides behind
D.On the pavement or, if there is none, the verge
Explanation: A child up to 10 riding under an adult's care counts as a pedestrian (Article 2(18) of the Road Traffic Act), so the child uses the pavement or, if there is none, the verge (Article 11(1)). The supervising adult may ride on the pavement too (Article 33(5)(1)).

B.Yes, provided the child wears a high-visibility vest
C.Yes, if the child rides exclusively within 1 metre of the kerb
D.Yes, during daylight hours on weekends only
Explanation: The minimum age for riding a bicycle is 10 (Article 8(1)(10) of the Act on Vehicle Drivers). A younger child may ride only under an adult's care and is then treated as a pedestrian (Article 2(18) of the Road Traffic Act).
6An adult is accompanying their 8-year-old child who is riding a bicycle on the pavement. Is the adult legally allowed to ride their own bicycle on the pavement in this situation?
A.No, the adult must always ride on the roadway even if separated from the child
B.Yes, an adult looking after a child under 10 may ride there
C.No, the adult must dismount and push their bicycle behind the child

A.Until the holder turns 15 years old
B.Until the holder turns 18
C.For exactly 2 years from the date of issue
D.Until the holder reaches retirement age
Explanation: Article 7(1)(2) of the Act on Vehicle Drivers requires a bicycle card or a qualifying licence only from riders under 18, so the card serves until the holder turns 18. Adults need no document to ride a bicycle.
10Where does a 13-year-old cyclist need a bicycle card (or a qualifying licence)?
A.Only on roads outside built-up areas
B.Only on roads with motor traffic, not on cycle paths
C.Only when riding to and from school
D.On public roads and in residential and traffic zones
Explanation: The Road Traffic Act applies on public roads, in residential zones and in traffic zones (Article 1(1)(1)), so a rider under 18 needs the card or a qualifying licence there.

2Know the new ages: 10 for a bicycle, 13 for an e-scooter, 16 for riding without a helmet and 17 for carrying another person.
3Remember the compulsory equipment: a white or yellow front light, a red rear light, a red non-triangular rear reflector, at least one effective brake and a bell.
4Never ride across a pedestrian crossing; dismount, unless there is a marked cycle crossing.
5Practise first aid basics: check the scene is safe, check responsiveness and breathing, call 112 and start CPR at 30:2 if needed.
