About the APF Nepal Inspector Exam
The Armed Police Force, Nepal recruits Inspectors (Gazetted Third Class, General group) through open competition. Candidates pass physical and medical tests, a 50-question multiple-choice IQ test and a 300-mark written examination with Nepali, English, General Knowledge, Constitution and law, and profession papers, followed by a qualitative test and an interview. Answers may be written in Nepali, English or both. Selection has eight stages: (1) preliminary physical measurement; (2) physical endurance test (300 m run, sit-ups, push-ups, chin-ups and a 3,200 m run); (3) detailed medical examination; (4) IQ test of 50 multiple-choice questions (numerical 18, abstract 16, verbal 16; 1 hour; pass mark 40 percent); (5) written examination of 300 marks: Paper 1 Nepali (50) and English (50), Paper 2 General Knowledge (50 multiple-choice questions) and Constitution and laws (50, subjective), and Paper 3 profession-related subjects (100, subjective, 3 hours); (6) qualitative test (100 marks, pass mark 40 percent); (7) special medical examination; and (8) interview (50 marks). The Public Service Commission conducts the IQ test and written examination. Answers may be written in Nepali, English or both, and multiple-choice answers must be marked with capital letters.

Each language section has 20 multiple-choice grammar and vocabulary items plus subjective composition; English also tests reading and writing.

The Constitution, the Local Administration Act 2028 and the Customs Act 2064; and profession-related topics including APF history, the APF Act and Regulations, disaster management, UN missions, border security, organised crime, terrorism, security management, human rights and cyber ethics.

Applicants need a Bachelor's degree and must be 21 to 25 on the application deadline. Men need a height of at least 5 ft 2 in, weight of 50 kg and chest of 31 to 33 in; women need a height of at least 5 ft and weight of 42 kg. Eyesight must be within plus or minus 2.
